Kali ini kami akan membahas graphics card besutan terbaru dari NVIDIA yaitu NVIDIA GTX 560 Ti.

Rasanya belum setahun sejak NVIDIA memperkenalkan arsitektur Fermi untuk graphics card DirectX 11 mereka. Sejak saat itu, NVIDIA telah merilis sembilan buah varian graphics card DirectX 11 mereka. Dimulai dari NVIDIA GTX 480, hingga yang belum lama ini dirilis yaitu NVIDIA GTX 570. Ya, dua generasi graphics card dalam waktu kurang dari setahun telah dirilis oleh NVIDIA.

Hari ini, NVIDIA kembali merilis graphics card terbaru mereka yaitu NVIDIA GTX 560 Ti. NVIDIA GTX 560 Ti merupakan varian kelas mainstream dari NVIDIA seri GTX 500 dimana kelas high-end telah diisi oleh NVIDIA GTX 580 dan NVIDIA GTX 570. NVIDIA GTX 560 Ti ditargetkan untuk menggantikan NVIDIA GTX 470.

NVIDIA GTX 560 Ti

Masih ingat dengan dengan NVIDIA GeForce 3 Ti dan GeForce 4 Ti? Berbeda dengan nama yang diberikan pada varian seri GTX 400 dan GTX 500 lainnya, NVIDIA menambahkan inisial “Ti” dibelakang nama NVIDIA GTX 560. Ya, hari ini NVIDIA menghidupkan kembali nama yang sempat menghilang selama beberapa tahun itu. Kata “Ti” sendiri merupakan singkatan dari Titanium. Apakah ini menandakan akan ada graphics card NVIDIA lainnya yang menggunakan kata “Ti”?

NVIDIA GTX 560 Ti menggunakan chip dengan codename GF114. Sebanyak 1.95 milyar transistor tertanam di dalam chip GF114. Chip GF114 terdiri dari 8 Streaming Multiprocessor (SM), 64 Texture Units, 32 ROP Units, dan 384 Stream Processor (CUDA Core). NVIDIA GTX 560 Ti dilengkapi core clock (Graphics Clock) sebesar 822 MHz, shader clock 1644 MHz, dan memori clock 4008 MHz. Core clock yang digunakan oleh NVIDIA GTX 560 Ti tergolong paling tinggi dibandingkan clock core varian NVIDIA seri GTX 500 dan GTX 400 lainnya.

Sekilas Tentang GF114

Gambar di atas merupakan blok diagram chip GF104. Seharusnya chip GF104 memiliki delapan buah Streaming Multiprocessing (SM) yang aktif. Akan tetapi, NVIDIA menonaktifkan satu buah SM sehingga NVIDIA GTX 460 hanya memiliki 7 SM dengan 56 Texture Units dan 336 Stream Prosesor (CUDA Cores).

NVIDIA GTX 560 Ti menggunakan konfigurasi Streaming Multiprocessing (SM) yang sama seperti NVIDIA GTX 460. Chip GF114 dapat dikatakan chip GF104 dengan delapan buah SM aktif. NVIDIA telah melakukan optimalisasi pada chip GF114 sehingga GF114 memiliki performance/Watt yang lebih baik daripada chip GF104. GF114 dengan delapan buah SM aktif kini memiliki 64 Texture Units dan 384 Stream Prosesor (CUDA Cores).

Review Ipad 2 – Lebih tipis, lebih ringan, lebih terang, lebih bertenaga, itulah iPad 2, di luncurkan langsung oleh boss Apple inc, Steve Jobs pada tanggal 2 Maret 2011.

Tetap pada ukuran 9,5 x 7,31 inci, iPad 2 oleh Steve Jobs diklaim bukan sebagai update, tapi lebih kepada redesign iPad. Secara fisik iPad 2 tampil 33% lebih tipis dan 15% lebih ringan dari pada pendahulunya, dengan adanya pengurangan ini yang jelas akan membuat iPad 2 lebih nyaman baik untuk bekerja ataupun memainkan game.

Untuk otak, iPad 2 mengalami peningkatan, Apple menanamkan processor baru inhouse mereka: Dual Core A5, membuat iPad 2 ini mampu bekerja 2 kali lebih cepat dari iPad sebelumnya yang menggunakan processor A4, akselerasi grafis juga mengalami peningkatan kerja sampai dengan 9x, yang berarti berita bagus untuk para penggemar game (berita buruk buat produsen game handheld). Yang keren (ceteris paribus), dengan peningkatan kinerja processor ini Apple mengklaim tidak mengorbankan kinerja 10 jam battery iPad yang sudah melegenda itu.

Salah satu update yang cukup membuat fans sumringah adalah penambahan front face camera untuk apps standard FaceTime, sehingga pengguna iPad 2 mampu melakukan video call/conference dengan pengguna iPhone4 dan komputer mac ber-front face kamera, dan penambahan HD camera pada sisi belakang, sehingga user iPad 2 mampu mengambil video atau foto.

Apple juga menanamkan teknologi gyroscope iPhone 4 ke dalam iPad 2 ini sehingga iPad 2 ini akan lebih responsive untuk apps yang membutuhkan interaksi pergerakan.

Dalam kesempatan ini, Apple juga memperkenalkan beberapa aksesori tambahan yang signifikan untuk iPad 2, HDMI adapter dan iPad Smart Cover, dengan HDMI adapter memungkinkan Anda menampilkan layar iPad 2 ini ke media display lain yang mendukung HDMI (LED TV dkk). Untuk Smart Cover, apabila iPad dulu default covernya hitam dan menutup semua body iPad, untuk smart cover ini hanya menutup bagian depan iPad 2 yang terbuat dari kaca serta menempel pada sisi pinggir iPad 2 dengan magnet (mirip magnet pada charger MacBook) dan ketika cover ini dibuka iPad 2 secara instant akan terbangun, terbuat dari polyurethane dan kulit, tampil dalam berbagai macam pilihan warna, bisa dilipat-lipat sehingga bisa berfungsi sebagai tatakan untuk mengetik atau melihat foto dan film.

Untuk software, iPad 2 dikapalkan dengan iOs terbaru, iOs 4.3. iOs 4.3 mengalami peningkatan untuk AirPlay (sekarang Anda mampu melakukan streaming langsung dari photo apps Anda), Peningkatan kinerja Safari (Java Nitro engine dari OS X ), iTunes Home Sharing (sekarang Anda bisa berbagi file iTunes dengan yang lain) dan personal Hotspot ( ini memungkinkan iPad 2 anda berfungsi sebagai router ).

Harman Kardon is a recognizable name in the audio market. The company has all sorts of audio products that run the gamut from car audio to home theater speakers and stereo system. The latest new product from Harman Kardon is the small and compact MAS 102 home audio system. All the hardware for the stereo is in the one case.

An optional dock can plug into one of the two USB ports on the 102 to allow playback from the iPhone or iPod. The small cabinet has the CD player and FM tuner integrated and has an IR remote for controlling the stereo and a docked iPod in that optional dock.

The MAS 102 has dual coaxial inputs, two optical digital inputs, and one coaxial digital output. It also has analog inputs for connecting music players via an aux cable. A Few Words About The Mysterious Stealth Helicopter In Pakistan

Unless you live in outer space, most human beings on Earth are familiar with at least the barest details surrounding the raid on a walled compound in the quiet suburb of Abbottabad. Okay, so Mr. Bin Laden got iced by a Navy Seal, but mysterious details and myths have floated up since that fateful night time wet work. One of the most fascinating involves what’s pictured Above. There’s more tasty juice after the jump.

Stealth helo

Seen north is an unidentified tail rotor of a helicopter. Apparently the Bin laden raid involved 80 Navy Seals who were inserted to the target’s lair via four choppers, one of which didn’t make it during the extraction rush, so it had to be destroyed to keep the op ‘sanitized.’ Destroying hardware is a countermeasure lest classified material falls into the wrong hands.

What’s strange is the surviving tail rotor can’t be palced on any single U.S. helicopter currently in service. A few experts have weighed in, claiming it’s a stealth variant of the UH-60 Blackhawk. There’s no confirmation from the top brass at the Pentagon though.

Stealth helicopters are tricky since the biggest hurdle is suppressing rotor noise. A prototype ‘stealth’ heli was believed to be used in Vietnam, but there’s been no other variants except for the shutdown Comanche program.

HTC Desire HD and Incredible S get sweet Gingerbread treatment

Good news, HTC users! The Desire HD and Incredible S Android 2.3 Gingerbread updates arrive right on time. They are available as a 100MB OTA update, so charge your phones, back up some data and go get some Gingerbread magic.

HTC promised us four Gingerbread updates in Q2 this year - for the Desire HD, Desire Z, Desire and Incredible S. They have just begun delivering those upgrades to the Desire HD and Incredible S.

The update is done over-the-air and is about 100MB, so if you don't have an unlimited data plan you should definitely use a Wi-Fi hotspot.

There is no info when the other two updates will roll out, but we guess it should happen in the next few days.

­Research In Motion (RIM) has shown off two new BlackBerry Bold branded smartphones, the 9900 and 9930 which offer a combination of touchscreen as well as a physical keypad. Both models run on the new BlackBerry 7 operating system.

They are also the thinnest BlackBerry smartphones yet, at only 10.5mm.

Kali ini Samsung menampilkan desain cukup trendi pada produk yang masih masuk pada varian Galaxy. Galaxy Mini hadir dengan balutan bahan dasar plastik doff bertekstur, terutama terlihat tegas pada bagian belakang ponsel. Sisi dinamis terlihat pada lis hijau disekeliling bodi ponsel dan cukup memberikan kesan fresh.

The much awaited official app for Google’s web-based documents service has finally been released to the Android Market. Google Docs for Android allows you to create, edit, upload and share documents online via your Google/Gmail account. In our test-run, we found the interface sufficiently fluid, efficient and user-friendly and thought the app as a whole was adequate. Though, judging from the first few reviews on the app’s Android Market page, it seems a majority of users are disappointed with the overall quality and we don’t blame them. It is Google we’re talking about here. Anything less than ‘fantastic’ ends up disappointing. Most of the disappointed lot have called the app a mere front end for the the mobile website.

True, the app’s editing interface is an exact replica of its mobile web counterpart. However, most would agree that it is most definitely a faster, more efficient alternative to the mobile web interface. More after the break.

As of this writing, the app lets you:

• Make quick changes to spreadsheets
• View your documents, PDFs, images and more
• Upload and convert files to the Google Docs format
• Take a photo of printed text and convert it to a Google document
• Share docs with your phone’s contacts

Among these features, the built-in OCR ability that allows you to take a photo of printed text and convert it to a Google document is something that really stands out, and can spare many of us a lot of typing while helping us digitize and organize much of our on-print information effectively.

The user interface is very straight-forward and well-designed. While exploring any one of the items displayed on the app‘s homescreen, you can simply swipe across the screen to switch to another.

Features that the app does not support as of yet include changing the ownership of a document and deleting existing documents.

We put the app’s file sharing feature to the test and as claimed in its description, changes made to a document appear in a little over a second to other viewers/editors. Unlike the web interface, the app does not update documents in real-time so you will, of course, have to hit Menu > Refresh to view said changes.

Recently, HTC revealed the successor of HTC Desire, Desire S, in the MWC, usually we have seen that any handset which runs on Android, the handset manufacturer stops providing any kind of software update for its previously released handsets, if its successor has already been announced or launched in the market.

But, now it looks that HTC is going to provide update option for its Desire, Desire HD and Desire Z. This update will bring latest version of the HTC’s Sense UI and some other goodies and the update is expected to be available in September or October of this year.

How To Permanently Root HTC Desire HD [Complete Guide]

The XDA developers (member zexbig) succeeded in obtaining the HTC Desire HD Root process. This method brings permanent root access on the HTC Desire HD. Here, the Paul’s Visionary+ tool is used to root / jailbreak HTC Desire HD. But this rooting method does not apply to the Telus Desire HD. Keep that in mind.

NOTE : Make sure your phone doesn’t have the 1.72 OTA update that was released in December last year.



Here are the instructions to root HTC Desire HD :

• Download Paul’s Visionary+ tool.
• Install Visionary+ tool on Your Desire HD.
• Run the tool and enable the ” Set system r/w after root ” option.
• Choose the ” Temproot Now! ” option and let it finish.
• Now, choose ” Attempt Permroot Now! ” and wait till it finishes the job.

That’s it! You have rooted your HTC Desire HD!

Though not required to flash custom ROM’s on your phone, you may require the engineering version of HBOOT to get S-Off to get some extra functionalities. It is optional and if you need it, head over to next post on Sarolopo!

How To Downgrade HTC Desire HD To Root It After OTA Update

HTC released the 1.72.405.3 OTA Android update for HTC Desire HD in December 2010 that included enhanced security, making it impossible to gain permanent root access on the device after the update. It also removed the permanent root and S-OFF access users had already obtained prior to the update. While there still isn’t a way to gain permanent root and S-OFF on the updated version, you can however downgrade your phone to an earlier build in order to be able to do so. Read on for the complete guide.

Requirements:

• HTC Desire HD with build 1.72 or later.
• HTC Sync or ADB drivers already installed.
• Stock 1.32 ROM.
• The required downgrade files.
• A Gold Card if your Desire HD is carrier-branded.

Procedure:

1. Extract the contents of Downgrade.zip to a location on your computer.
2. Enable USB Debugging on your HTC Desire HD from Settings > Applications > Development.
3. Connect your phone to your computer via USB and make sure the connection mode is charge only.
4. Launch a Command Prompt window and browse to the location of the files extracted in Step 1.
5. Enter the following commands:

   adb push psneuter /data/local/tmp
   adb push misc_version /data/local/tmp
   adb shell chmod 777 /data/local/tmp/psneuter
   adb shell chmod 777 /data/local/tmp/misc_version
   adb shell /data/local/tmp/psneuter
   adb shell

   You should now get the # prompt, indicating temporary root.
6. Enter these commands:

   cd /data/local/tmp
   ./misc_version -s 1.31.405.6

7. Set your phone’s connection mode to disk drive for file transfer and copy the stock ROM’s PD98IMG.zip to the root of your SD card (not in any folder).
8. Reboot your phone into bootloader by first powering it off and then keeping the volume-down button pressed while powering it back on.
9. The bootloader will automatically detect the ROM and will guide you through the process of installing it. Simply follow the instructions and you should have the old ROM back on your phone.

Now that you have successfully downgraded your phone, you may proceed to root again your device from the begining.

Disain
Kali ini Samsung menampilkan desain cukup trendi pada produk yang masih masuk pada varian Galaxy. Galaxy Mini hadir dengan balutan bahan dasar plastik doff bertekstur, terutama terlihat tegas pada bagian belakang ponsel. Sisi dinamis terlihat pada lis hijau disekeliling bodi ponsel dan cukup memberikan kesan fresh.

Pas dalam genggaman, begitulah kesan pertama yang terasa ketika kita memegang ponsel ini. Bobotnya cukup ringan, hanya 105 gram. Sedangkan ukurannya sendiri tergolong sedang, yakni 110.4 x 60.8 x 12.1 mm.

Menyisir akses fisik pada balutan ponsel, kita menemukan switch volume/zoom pada bagian kiri, tepat berseberangan dengan switch power dan slot micro SD (hotswap). Sedangkan pada bagian atas ponsel tampak slot micro USB yang terlindung rapih menemani jack audio 3,5 mm.

Dominasi layar yang tampak luas pada bagian depan, tampil dengan karakter simple. Tombol homescreen tersemat hanya ditemani oleh tombol menu dan back.
